We bought the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Table today. Hunter LOVES it! I will add pictures tomorrow. He sits and laughs at it. I think he would have been just as happy having just the spoon/rattle that it comes with, but we won't tell his daddy that :-). I finished 2 more scrapbook pages today. I am so excited about the digital scrapbooking. My plan is to get copies made for each of the grandparents (8X8) and making albums for them to give as Christmas presents. I am thinking I will include about 20 pages in each of their book. At the rate I am going, I should have NO problems getting that many.
That wasn't quite as bad as I expected, but tonight was still not fun. The tooth broke through sometime this evening and man is it sharp! Hunter normally goes to bed at 6:30 and right now it is 10:07 and he is just now dozing off. I am tired.
I am REALLY enjoying digital scrapbooking. If you would have asked me 6 months ago if I was even remotely interested in digi scrapping, I would have said NO WAY! I very much love paper crafting, but with Hunter, it is just too much work to get everything out. With digi, I can scrap while he is nursing, sitting in my lap, etc. It is great. I have attached my "month pages" I have been creating! Enjoy!
I have started working on my application for a teaching job at my church's school. I am very excited about it. I would be teaching 2nd grade starting next August and Hunter would be in the day care center that is 6 doors down in the SAME HALLWAY as me! That would be a blessing and would definitely help calm my nerves about going back to work.
So today was kind of rough for my little man! He was HAPPY as can be when he was with me, but anytime I set him down he screamed and cried until I picked him up. I looked in his mouth and there is a little bump on his bottom gum!! I think we are about to have our first tooth! How exciting. I gave him some teething tablets and tylenol and put him to bed at his normal time....it didn't work. He was up for 2 HOURS after that. He finally fell asleep at 8:45 and is still sleeping now! Hopefully he will get some rest tonight.
Last night was the 2nd night of my Wilton Cake Decorating Class at Hobby Lobby. The class is normally $30, but it was half off this month! So far, we have learned how to make icing, color icing, start the base of the rose, make stars, zig zag lines, borders and ice the cake. Last night was the first time we got to decorate a cake. We had our choice of doing a character cake (takes a long time) or the Rainbow Cake. I chose to make the rainbow cake so I could finish in class. I still didn't finish in class, but I only had to work on it for about 30 minutes when I got home. The class is so much fun and I can't wait until next week when we learn part 2 of the rose and decorate a clown cake!
I have included some pictures so you can see exactly what my cake looks like!
I just cannot believe that it has been almost 6 months since Hunter was born. It is amazing to see how quickly he changes. Josh went out of town for a week and when he came back, EVERYTHING was different! In a matter of 4 days, we stopped swaddling, Hunter stopped nursing to sleep, he learned to self soothe, he started rolling both ways with ease and he is starting to "talk" (no real words...but he is definitely talking). He is getting so big!
His "nose infection" seems to be improving, but is not completely gone.
My mom came down this weekend and we had a great time. I sewed my very first project this weekend (all by myself!) It is a table runner for my dining room! I also made a wreath to put out during Texas A&M football games! The pictures don't really do it justice, but I I have included a pictures anyway (I also put one of the table runner and Hunter) Enjoy!

We have been battling a cold for a week now and the pedi told me if the meds didn't help by Friday to call....so, we went in and he has a nose infection (similar to a sinus infection...but since babies don't have sinuses...it is just a nose infection) so we we are on antibiotics until next week and if it isn't gone by Tuesday, we have to go back........
Well, I am not keeping up with my blog as I had hoped I would, but thus is the life of a mom I suppose!
Hunter is SOO much fun! He is going through a really fun stage right now where he smiles and laughs at every person that looks at him. He loves to meet new people and really has fun when we get to go places (target, the mall, etc.)
We have been going through our stage 1 solids and so far have tried: Rice Cereal: Didn't Like Carrots: Liked Peas: Hated (We didn't go the recommended 3-5 days on these because he just wouldn't eat them) Sweet Potatoes: LOVES (We just started these yesterday, and they are a big hit!)
I am so excited to see Hunter's ABC book that I made him on Shutterfly. It was so fun to make and really inexpensive!
We have been trying rice cereal for the past few weeks with little/no success. He would spit all of it out and make a terrible face. So, we decided to give him his first carrots last night and he loved them! Here is a video of it!
Well, After about 3 weeks of Hunter NOT sleeping all night, the day Josh came home from his job, Hunter FINALLY STTN again! WAHOO! It was awesome! Last night he only woke up once...I can handle that!
Follow up to 4 month shots - Hunter's fever got up to 100.1, and I was TERRIFIED! That only lasted for about 30 minutes, and then it dropped back down to normal. I never knew how scared I would be when my little guy wasn't feeling so well. That was the worst thing ever!
Hunter's 4 month check-up was today! I always look forward to going to the pediatrician because I think of so many questions between visits. He weighs 15.94 (63rd percentile), is 24 1/4 inches long (19th percentile) and his head circumference is 16.5 (34th percentile). Everything is looking good and we have the go ahead for starting solids. We will be starting rice cereal this later this week. We will start with 2 teaspoons breast milk and work our way up from there. After about a week of that, we can start introducing stage 1 veggies one at a time for 3-5 days to make sure he doesn't have any allergies. I think we will start with carrots first, then alternate between orange/yellow and green veggies until we have been through all of them. After we have been through the veggies, we will move on to fruits continuing the 3-5 day test period. Once we have finished all of the Stage 1 foods, we will move on to Stage 2!
After his check up, he had to get his 4 month shots. Shots=terrible! At his 2 month appt, you couldn't even tell he had gotten the shots, but this time was MUCH worse. He screamed and screamed. It was not fun! He has been very fussy all afternoon. I finally got him down for a nap and he slept for about 2 hours.
Jess and Ihad SO much fun this weekend!! We started on Friday with some shopping. Jess has started quilting and I am getting super interested in it! Since my mom finished my fun quilt for my guest room/craft room, I have been thinking about it, but going shopping with Jess topped of my interest. At our last gift shop we stopped at, we found THE cutest personalized decoupaged canvas' that sold for $32!!! So, instead of paying for them, we went to Hobby Lobby and spent a while making our own! We are so excited about them. I really want to start doing craft shows and I think that these things might be one of my projects!
I had just put Hunter back to bed, but as I look at the monitor, he is wide awake again....here we go again!
Well, we had a great day!...until....it was time for bed. Hunter screamed for a REALLY long time! Jess came to town to visit. Hopefully Hunter won't scream the whole time she is here :-) We are going shopping tomorrow, screaming or not! Good night! (I just said I was going to write daily....I didn't say it would be good!)
Last night was TERRIBLE. Hunter went to sleep at 9:45ish, so I put him down in the crib without the carseat. at 11:45, he was wide awake. I got him out of bed, and he was asleep again within 25 minutes. I put him back down...in the carseat this time. He was awake 30 minutes later. I got him back to sleep and he woke up AGAIN at 4:15. He went back to sleep at 4:45. At 7:15 he is wide awake again, so I unswaddled him and brought him to bed with me where he slept until 8:30......I NEED a nap!!!
I finally decided it was time for me to have a blog. I am terrible at writing things down when they happen, so hopefully this will help me!
Yesterday we had Hunter's 4 month pictures made at Sears! He did a great job. I have not been disappointed with Sears yet!
Last night we tried letting Hunter sleep in the crib without the carseat!! Success!! Well, not total success, but we did get 3 hours which was MUCH better than previous attempts!
Hunter is getting MUCH better at napping. He just woke up from a 3 hour nap...time to go play :-)
